AFGE Local 3599's Officers, Stewards, and Alternates, met in August 2005, in Savannah, Georgia.  Participants received training from Irene Hill, HQ RESOLVE Coordinator, Chief Steward Wendell Simms, and Council 216 President Gabrielle Martin, who joined us for the meeting.  Rachel Shonfield, Miami Steward, gave a presentation on legislative action. A moment of silence was observed to honor the passing of Immediate Past President Zack Taylor.  Participants also conducted Local Business including the President's Report, the Treasurer's Report, and proposed constitutional amendments.  Savannah Steward Janice Smith, graciously hosted a barbeque.  In their free time, participants visited Savannah attractions including the famous "Pirate's House," "The Lady and Sons Restaurant," and Tybee Beach.
